So, you may be asking yourself “What exactly is a growth mindset and why do I need it to succeed in Business”?
Well, a growth mindset is an actual, demonstrable psychological phenomenon.
People with a growth mindset tend to have a desire to learn from life. This desire leads to the ability to embrace challenges, to overcome setbacks, to see effort as worth the results, to accept criticism and to admire and learn from the successes of others. (Hence, the name.) People with a growth mindset are believers and this belief allows them to achieve their goals time and time again.
On the flip side…People with a fixed mindset tend to have a desire to appear smart, with a corresponding fear of looking foolish. Their desire leads them to avoid challenges, to give up easily, to see extra effort as wasted, to ignore or reject criticism and to envy and begrudge the success of others. These behaviors tend to limit native intelligence to a fixed amount. People with a fixed mindset often plateau early in life and fail to have, let alone reach, fixed goals.
The good news is that a growth mindset can be cultivated fairly easily by changing some critical behaviors and as a Business Owner success becomes inevitable.
“The mindset is much more important than having a million dollars.”

Are you ready for this? Here are 3 Proven Growth Mindset Hacks to ensure you enjoy success in your Business.
- Decide To Choose Growth Over Stagnation–
It’s simple but yet many never make a conscious decision when it comes to choosing growth over stagnation. For you to succeed in business, it’s important that you choose growth consistently as challenges will force you to throw caution to the wind and give up. The growth mindset creates a powerful passion for learning and constantly improving…whether that means working with a Coach, buying an online course, attending that retreat, or simply choosing to read a book monthly. Question now is…What will you be choosing today?
“The only way to get to where you want to go is to ruthlessly evaluate your where you are now. The key here is that your biggest obstacle in life is always yourself—not external factors.”
― Isaiah Hankel
- Be Willing to Believe In Yourself And Take Positive Action –
Your view of yourself can determine everything. Carol Dweck in her famous TED talk shares about the Power of Yet.
This simple step… attaches the word “yet” to the end of every negative outcome or thought. Instead of saying, I created my course and I didn’t sell…a better way will be “I created my course and I didn’t sell, yet!
More examples include-
“That hasn’t worked, yet…” or
“It’s probably not worth going, yet…”
This simple trick opens up the possibility for growth and that possibility leads to changed behavior that actually does cause the development of the growth mindset.
“Your words control your life, your progress, your results, even your mental and physical health. You cannot talk like a failure and expect to be successful.”
― Germany Kent
- Take Risks–
One major difference between a lot of entrepreneurs that are successful and those who are still scrolling on the feeds of social media and asking God…When? Is in their ability to take Risks. There comes a time, when you must be willing to push yourself out of your comfort zone and try new things, throw in some creativity and innovation and simply be willing to create something of value that changes the game in your Industry.
You are meant for so much more! Do not let a fixed mindset hold you back from all that you can achieve. Choose growth, believe in yourself and be willing to take risks that will propel you forward.
