I once read a story of a business owner who realized that running his business was becoming so demanding that he was spending all of his time on daily demands and investing almost no time into his own personal development. He knew this was hurting him because he thrived on feeding his mind with inspirational and business education.

He decided to start a new routine of waking up at 4am to get some quality study time in. This was way outside of his comfort zone. He felt tired for the first few days and questioned if this was really a good idea. But he tried it for a few days. A few days turned into a week. After that, he was feeling great, and he wanted to keep the streak going.

Before he knew it, he had literally forged a new identity.  He was now the man who gets up at 4am to get a head start on the rest of the world. He felt proud of himself. And more importantly, the extra hours he was investing into training his mind and motivating himself were paying off. His mood was better, his business was thriving, and new ideas were flooding into his mind all of the time.

The momentum has continued, and it is still his routine to this day.
